TiVo made satellite TV a fun
and interactive experience. You
have a wealth of programs to choose from, and TiVo let you choose which
programs you wanted to record, record your favorites, get detailed programming
information, and pause live shows.
Now you've decided to
upgrade your TV to an HDTV with satellite TV service. But what about your TiVo unit, can you still use it? Can you use the TiVo to record your new
HDTV programs?
Well, the answer is both yes and no. You can use the TiVo to
record shows, but it will be in straight digital quality. However, if you do want to record High
Definition TV, TiVo has a Digital Video Recorder just made for HDTV.
Once again, DirecTV has
partnered with TiVo to introduce the top-of-the-line technology to customers,
with the introduction of the DirecTV HD DVR. Unlike the TiVo of old, the HD DVR offers customers a huge
250 GB hard drive. In addition,
customers can choose whether to view recorded shows in 480i, 480p, 720p or
1080i.
The new HD DVR offers Dolby
Digital 5.1 stereo outputs, creating a true home theater experience. The integrated ATSC tuner allows you to
access both digital and High Definition signals - and record programs for
all the channels you receive.
Count on DirecTV and TiVo to
offer customers the latest technology and advantages of satellite TV. With rapidly expanding HDTV programming
options, and the ability to record in HDTV and play back recordings, you won't
ever have to fear missing favorite programs.
